A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is an alphanumeric string assigned to uniquely identify an object. It is tied to a metadata description of the object as well as to a digital location, such as the URL where all of the details about the object are accessible. The following fields are considered mandatory for the award of a DOI in Dataverse:

a. Dataset Title

b. Author details

c. Contact details

d. Description of the dataset

e. Domain or Field of Research specific subject information (such as Social Sciences).
