ADA Projects and Project Collaborations

2025

• 2023-2025 ADA is part of the Dataverse and Local Context communities contributing to a Harvard Dataverse Project (NIH GREI funded 2022-2026) to support integration of Local Contexts Traditional Knowledge (TK) and Biocultural (BC) Labels, and Notices, in the Dataverse Platform. The integration is in test mode.

2024

• ADA has been in collaboration with ANU First Nations Portfolio (FNP) to support the schematic development and improvement of the ANU Indigenous metadata Knowledge Graph and its methodology. This work is part of the Improving Indigenous Research Capabilities (IIRC) ARDC Program  : Indigenous research data catalogue resources and extensions:
  • Sub-Stream 1 (SS1)SS1.2.2: Led by the Australian National University: Continuations and extensions of the work undertaken in Phase1 of the project, led by the ANU First Nations Portfolio, Indigenous Data Governance for ANU data cataloguing.

2023

• 2023-2026 Dataverse and Local Context Integration. ADA is one of the Dataverse installations contributing to a Harvard Dataverse Project (NIH GREI funded 2022-2026) to support integration of Local Contexts Traditional Knowledge (TK) and Biocultural (BC) Labels, and Notices, in the Dataverse Platform.

2022

• 2022 ADA provided support for a project with Anindilyakwa Land Council language centre to successfully implement a pilot Mukurtu CMS to enable the community to access and describe digitised cultural heritage material held by the Groote Eylandt Language Centre.

2021

• 2021-2022 ADA contributed to the development and implementation of the Anindilyakwa Land Council (ALC) Data Unit for the ALC Data Report Social Indicators and Data Governance to Support Local Decision Making in the Groote Archipelago | A Report to the Anindilyakwa Land Council prepared under the auspices of First Nations Portfolio Australian National University.

• Studies of Childhood, Education & Youth (SOCEY)is a qualitative data archive hosted by ADA, tailored specifically for studies childhood, youth and education, and developed in conjunction with the Australian Data Archive (ADA) and Social & Cultural Informatics Platform (SCIP).
• AURIN Census Project ARDC
• ADA provided liaison and development for technical and web-based workflows for RRR. Return Reconcile Renew (RRR) commenced in 2014. Its overall aim is to raise awareness and understanding about repatriation and assist repatriation practitioners and researchers in their efforts to bring Old People home.
• Australian Demographic Data Bank (ADDB) Project to recover data and publish with ADA. The Australian Demographic Databank (ADDB) was created in the 1970s and 1980s by scholars in the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. It was compiled using national data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and covers the years 1921 to 1981. Volumes archived with ANU Archives ADDB Vol 1, ADDB Vol 2, 1921-1966 recorded by age
