ADA Projects and Project Collaborations

2025

  • 2023-2026 Dataverse and Local Context Integration. ADA is one of the Dataverse installations contributing to a Harvard Dataverse Project (NIH GREI funded 2022-2026) to support integration of Local Contexts Traditional Knowledge (TK) and Biocultural (BC) Labels, and Notices, in the Dataverse Platform. The integration is in test mode.

2024

  • ADA is in ongoing collaboration with ANU First Nations Portfolio (FNP) to support the schematic development and improvement of the ANU Indigenous metadata Knowledge Graph and its methodology. This work is part of the Improving Indigenous Research Capabilities (IIRC) ARDC Program  : Indigenous research data catalogue resources and extensions:
    • Sub-Stream 1 (SS1)SS1.2.2: Led by the Australian National University: Continuations and extensions of the work undertaken in Phase1 of the project, led by the ANU First Nations Portfolio, Indigenous Data Governance for ANU data cataloguing.

  • 2023-2024 Indigenous metadata bundle - ADA participated in the Indigenous Metadata Symposium on May 9, 2023 at New York University to initiate the development of an Indigenous metadata bundle for use across multiple data systems and repositories. Over 60 participants attended the symposium, including representatives from academia, museums, governmental agencies, and nonprofit organizations across the United States, Canada, Australia, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Europe, and French Polynesia. 2022

  • 2022 ADA provided support for a project with Anindilyakwa Land Council language centre to successfully implement a pilot Mukurtu CMS to enable the community to access and describe digitised cultural heritage material held by the Groote Eylandt Language Centre.
